The 2008 Honda Accord is the largest and most powerful Accord ever built. In fact it is among the largest and most powerful cars in its class. Choose between a fuel efficient and powerful four cylinder engine or a revolutionary new V6 engine that uses six, four and even three cylinders as circumstances require. The new range of Honda Accords is about to transform your world.
The new Honda Accord boasts engine technology to create a range of large cars that are powerful yet fuel efficient, with lower emissions.
i-VTEC
Both the 4-cylinder and V6 engines in the new Accord range feature Honda’s advanced i-VTEC technology, making them amongst the most powerful and fuel efficient in their class.
VCM
The Honda Accord V6 variable cylinder management (VCM) engine will only use all 6 cylinders when it needs the power, like during start-up, acceleration or when climbing hills. Usage drops from 6 to 4 cylinders at high cruising speeds or on mild inclines. At cruising speeds or with low engine loads, the engine runs on just 3 cylinders. This engine technology offers the best of both worlds, power and fuel efficiency.
Every model in the new Accord range includes Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) as standard, helping to bring the car back under control and regain traction during tricky situations, such as hard cornering or swerving to avoid an obstacle. Every model in the new Accord range is equipped with dual front and front side airbags. In addition, the VTi Luxury, V6, and V6 Luxury models include curtain airbags for front and rear occupants.
